با تشکر از بابک عزیز به خاطر اینکه:
1- به عنوان یکی از اعضای هییت مدیره بالاخره به مشکلات
اعضاء توجه میکند
2- با من در رابطه با مشکل تجدید عضویتم تماس میگیرد
3- قول میدهد که آنرا پیگیری کند
4- و بالاخره بعد از یکسال به تقاضا من پاسخ مثبت داده و
ایمیل خود را در اختیارم میگذارد.
از اینرو این ایمیل را برای ایشان و دیگر عزیزان ارسال
میدارم تا از کم و کاست تمدید عضویت من که شاید نمونه ای
از مشکلات بسیاری دیگر از افراد در تجدید عضویت و یا عضو
شدنشان در کنگره باشد آشنا گردد. در ضمن در حال تهیه
ویدئویی هستم که در آن، سرانجام کمپین "من هم یک ایرانی
کانادایی-هستم" را به تصویر در آورم. که چگونه زمانی به
دنبال افراد در کوچه و بازار میدویدیم، ده دلار عضویتشان
را خودمان پرداخت میکردیم، تا به تعهد خود در بالابردن
تعداد اعضاء تا هزار نفر عمل کرده باشیم. چهار سال بعد،
فعالان همان کمپین باید التماس کنند، به دنبال همراهان
سابق خود برای تمدید عضویتشان بدوند، و آنها برای پائین
نگاهداشتن تعداد اعضاء آنها را نادیده بگیرند. باشد که این
ویدئو کمکی باشد برای ما و پنچ میلیون فراری دیگر تا
دریابیم که چگونه انقلابمان به اینجا رسید و باعث آوارگی
ما شد.
باز هم با تشکر از بابک که با یک تماس امید را دوباره زنده
میکند.

The sad story of renewing my membership 2019
This year I didn’t receive the notice of renewing my
membership as we used to receive before our membership
expires which in my case was in March 2019.
. On March 24th I contacted ICC BOD for the first time
regarding this issue.
- On March 27 I sent my second e-mail inquiring about
the renewal of my membership as I hadn’t received any
reply from them.
- This time I received an e-mail from ICC on March 27
explaining that there was no change in renewal of
membership. They referred me to online registration.
- On April 4th I contacted them for the third time
mentioning the changes. I also explained how confusing
the ICC website is when it comes to renewal of
membership. It is not clear if you are making a donation
or renewing your membership. I told them that as I do
not trust the website I would rather meet the secretary
in person for the renewal.
- On April 7th I contacted them for the forth time when
I discovered on social media other members didn’t
receive the renewal notice and were in the same
situation as me
- On April 7th I received the second time the two line
reply referring me to online registration.
- On April 22nd I contacted them for the fifth time and
reminded them about my request of having a meeting with
the secretary.
- On April 28th I sent them my sixth e-mail reminding
them about the issue.
- On May 5th, for the first time I received an e-mail
from the new secretary Pouyan Tabasinejad who is the ICC
vice president at the same time. Pouyan expressed his
intention to renew my membership in person.
- On May 11th I replied to Pouyan (seventh e-mail)
requesting to participate in the next BOD meeting as an
observer and taking the opportunity to renew my
membership at the same time.
-On May 30th I received an e-mail from Pouyan telling me
about the possibility of renewing the membership in
ICC's office on Sunday June 02. As I responded to him
unfortunately I was out of town at that time.
Since then I am waiting and waiting.
